Because it get worst before it gets better. I think blue fire is an excellent company to invest in because they are right on the future, that probably they don't even imagine. Even the goverment gave this company millions of dollars to build the ethanol plant and produce huge amounts of it.

I have intently studied the Bluefire process and reported economics as a chemical engineer, and am convinced they have already developed and patented the cellulosic ethanol peocess that could become a huge success. They have a small plant being designed now near Los Angeles, with a larger plant waiting for final CAL permits.I agree Bluefire has tremendous potential and is an excellent investment.

If it is true that their technology is well developed and suitable for future use, how come their stock price has continued to sink over the past several months?

I know that they are partnered with Waste Management, which is a good sign, but these days most of the small time cellulosic ethanol companies have a big name partner (ie. Shell, Cargill, Abengoa).

SunOpta looks like a much better investment, having deals with Abengoa and a real financial record of success. Their earnings this quarter were much higher than expected, compared to many cellulosic ethanol firms who are not even breaking even.

Price was sliding during the credit crunch. Investors were and to some extant still are skeptical as to their financing. If they cant raise the 60% per plant, they wont get DOE's 40% funding.

Does anyone have an eye on proposed construction sites (Corona and Lancaster, Ca) for Blue Ethanol? It is possible that their Japan construction partners are deveoping modular units that go up extremely fast once construction activity begins.
